This artwork is a mixed media piece that consists of a hand-carved wood body with a mix of carved wood and metal (saw blade) wings.

The color on the wood is from pyrography (wood burning), while the metal has a custom patina added. The stand is built from scrap metal parts (mostly farm implements). The top of the stand has a unique wheel with fused glass added and represents the raising sun.

I added leather straps for the talons and made a customized hood that fits over the head (not shown). The piece is about 5’7″ tall and weighs about 150 pounds.
